Not starting (need help ASAP)
I have recently brought a X5 3.0i and I noticed a vlave cover leak and a extreme oil built up on the valve cover and on the engine. I cleaned the valve cover and tired clean the the internal engine. I replaced the cover and after replacing the cover the car started but after driving several miles the car stop 10miles from my house while I was driving. The car is turn over but it is not getting any fire. What would cause this problem? Thanks for the help. 1. Can the O2 sensor cause this problem

Sounds like a massive vacuum leak...possibly from the valve cover??

I remove the valve cover again and check for any vacuum leak because I notice that one of the pre O2 sensor wire was slightly caught under the valve cover. Do you know if the O2 sensor would cause the car not to start?

Agree with X5fromOz, messing with the valve cover is what messed it up, not the O2 sensor. An O2 sensor would simply throw a check CEL on the car, not stop it.
The seal between the head and valve cover is bad.

Why would the car start and then stop if there was a large vacuum leak. Do I have to resetting the computer with a OBII?
