OEM tow package question
So i have a 2005 x5 3.0 liter with oem tow package installed. I barely use it and want to offer it to someone who needs it more than i do My question is, what other parts do i need to remove besides the hitch? Does anybody have a diagram or list of parts? Basically i need to know which parts is needed by a car who is not factory equiped with the package. Thanks in advance!

You need to get the original parts to secure the bumper and bumper cover back onto the X5 once you remove the hitch. I have some of the old parts, but I think that shipping will be prohibitive. I have the inserts and the piece that connects the two insert together.

Get the electronic towing module, which is located under the trunk floor. Also make very sure to get the wiring harness for that module since it is no longer available.

Depending on the condition and looks like you are and if the car was originally from rust free zone? It would go for 350-450 and crazy shipping.
For your reference, the shipping package for everything was about 60 lb and 65" long if you have to ship it.

Don't forget to include the factory wiring harness consisting of the big round plug and harness that goes up into the lower hatch area inside the vehicle with the factory plug.
This factory wiring harness has become nearly impossible to find other than at salvage yards. Mike
