stoichio is on a distinguished road
Had appointment with an Independent garage to code the module, BUT, day prior engine decided to stumble at idle. Code P011. Cancelled appointment. I bought this vehicle with a "bad engine". It was just the timing guides laying in pieces. Replaced the guides, tensioners and chains. Replaced O rings for the Vanos (both). Thoroughly cleaned the debris from the engine. On completion, the engine ran quiet and smooth. That is when I found the problem with the brake lights. I went to diagnose the over advanced camshaft problem, and the engine was back to running smooth with no codes. Perhaps a small piece of debris passed its way through the oil control solenoid? I drove to work "The Maiden Voyage/ Test Drive". Engine ran strong. Was a good feeling knowing the brake lights were working correctly. Safety First, EH! Got to work, parked the car. Couple hours passed, found coolant under car. Topped off coolant and drove home. No overheating. A heater line was at fault. NOW, I have the infamous code P0705. No, I don't find the charging system or the battery at fault to trip the transmission fail safe. My thoughts are in the direction of coolant entering the Transmission Park/Neutral Position switch. To be diagnosed. Can't drive this puppy, therefore, I cannot make an appointment for the coding. Think I should start a new thread in regards to the Transmission Fail Safe? I will reply to let you all know how the coding went. Has to be soon, winter is around the corner.
