You've been more lucky than me, I've tried it in VMWare, Parrallels and virtualbox with XP SP3 (fresh install each time) and nothing worked even with the USB settings changed in the virtual machine... The hub was my savior.

Glad it worked and that's the main thing really.

I run mine on a dell 2in1 notebook (the one that the screen will fold around and become a tablet. Best computer I have ever owned. I loaded it down with memory and a 512 gig ssd drive and it runs 10 hours or more watching movies on a charge. Love the thing.

I have an alienware laptop but since I spent over $3000 for it I don't like using it for car work and it weighs a ton and runs about an hour on a charge. I7's with 3d screen and dedicated graphics cards are not battery friendly.

Anyways the dell has been great. I have about $700 in it and its paper thin. Bit larger than a mac air. It boots up in about 5 seconds from hitting the power button with the ssd drive and I can go from off to firing up VMware and xp booting in a window in about 45 seconds.

The battery life to me is the best part when doing a bunch of car coding.

I almost bought a PC because of this issue but as I'm not so much cooding but testing the car and fixing gremlins, I was quite determined to have the software working on a computer I almost always have with me and charged.

Now it works, it works quite well and quite fast on the macbook. I haven't done anything with NCS Expert or similar but since INPA works without issue, I'm guessing it would to. I plan on trying soon to set up the DRL's correctly since PA soft only lets me activate the xenons and it seems excessive.

Best coding I came up with on the X5 was coding the high beam lights (the ones normally used for daytime running lights) to work with my xenons. Killer high beam lights now

Best mod ever.

My 2004 does not have the BIX line in the LCM .trc file to fire the center flash to pass headlights with Xenon high beams. The most I was able to do was fog lights on with high beams. There is still a lot of light coming from the front but I really wanted to join the 6 lights on crowd.

I wonder if it is because of the adaptive Bi-Xenon setup?

I have the adaptive bi-xenon in my 2005.

The highbeams on at the same time were in a weird spot on mine but I cant remember what module it was. Let me look for it real quick.

* edit * I found where I did the change and nope the lcm was the highbeams it seems the funky editing I had to do was turning the stupid steering wheel moving at key on/off.

I see what your talking about now on your X5 Overboost. I found where you had responded in that thread I did. I wonder if its possible to update the lcm?

Probably be easier to just get a late LCM replacement off fleaBay and change the VIN and mileage with PA Soft. I did the same thing on my 2002 E46 to get one touch triple blink and brake force display.
