Have a look at the Aftermarket E53 Radio Install in Crowz signature. He has documented the complete install with the components he has tested and proven. If I ever go aftermarket, I will follow his lead.

I already have and install the N6. Really the only thing I want from it is the cable that supports Apple CarPlay. I just hope the N6 supports it.

It shows you have to buy the ilink from them to get it to work.

This is a vid of it in action.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtorUcDgj3o

Which is going to cost you another $300.

https://www.jandtdistributing.com/pr...nt=28126793409

Ouch.

For $300 you could go with the newer radio from Seicane. I am NOT trying to talk you into it just point out for the money for the inlink alone you have the option of changing out the radio if you wanted to.

That just isn't fair to charge that much for that after what they charge for that radio in my opinion.

But I am truly wishing you the best of luck which ever way you go.

Thanks for the info. Guess I was looking in the wrong section on the site. Apple CarPlay is really what’s missing for me for this unit so buying the link may be worth it. I’ve come to realize that stuff for BMW isn’t cheap lmao oh well.

I am able to connect my android phone to the Soccer mom minivan with just a simple usb micro cable. For $300.00 bucks to buy a cable to connect an Eyephone to a car radio, you guy got to stop drinking the APPLE Cider.

Hahaha each just simply has their own taste. I’ve had android and it was garbage for me so I switched back to Apple. They have some great phones but it’s just not for me since most of the features I use daily just works better for me on the iOS system.

I ditched iphone back at the iphone 3gs. Its not the phone as much as iTunes. I LOATH iTunes. To me its a virus. Infesting the computer and making it unstable

Been android ever since. Again I don't hate the iphone just their computer software needed to support it.

Wife and I have note 8 phones. For music I just put all my music on a sd card and stick that in the radio. Phone is just for making calls radio wise for us.

I have an IMAC but also use a Chromebook. The only Windows base computer is a Sony Viao laptop which I keep because it has my copy of Carsoft 6.5 and BMW Scanner 1.4 on it. Once I dump the BMW I won't need the Sony Viao any longer.
