battery tender to jump points

Hello to all, decided that am fed up of opening and closing the hood on the X5 to get to the jump/charge points in engine bay, anyone got any tips or pointers for where to route a cable to the tender out from the engine bay jump points and be accessible whilst the hood is down? got a ctek and it does come with a 'weather proof' connector so should be ok even if exposed to elements....

I've seen some guys using the trailer hitch plug. Very clean. Let me look up the correct pins. I think Crowz charges his through a solar panel this way.
*EDIT* wpoll has a nice setup here:

If you don't feel like opening the hood, then why not just use one of the cigarette lighter sockets?

The nice part of this system is that its impossible for the connector to short on anything when its not plugged in because of the built in switch inside the housing. If its not connected you can short the prongs with a paper clip and nothing happens. So its completely safe.

Also if you forget to unplug it and drive off it will pull away and not hurt anything.

If your car sees the sun, then I'd use a solar charger.
Plug the solar charger in the cig. socket and leave the solar panel on the dash.
I have used solar charger in the past, it is a great device that prevents battery discharge.
