Down to one code - P1447

Hey Lads,

So I have exercised the demons and I am left with a single code and that is the P1447 for what most people find out is the DTML pump going south. I replaced mine already with a known good unit and just recently got to the root of the problem that was throwing my lean codes (see my thread on it).

I went for days without throwing any codes at all and recently went to the pumps and filled her up with gas. Shortly after I got a CEL and when I checked it, it was the P1447 code which I have been throwing for a while. It amazes me how little real intel is on the net about some of these issues but I haven't given up yet. Since I can rule out the DTML pump (unless I got a bad unit) and I can also rule out the gas cap as it is brand new OEM, I am going to need to hunt elsewhere for the issue.

I'll take any troubeshooting advice but I have a couple of issues that I am still not able to resolve as of yet.

1) My idle still seems low and grumbly. I have to check to see if my P-side exhaust is still making the fluttering sounds it was always making but that is still really weird to me. The left side sometimes makes what appears to be a similar fluttering sound but the right side was very defined. I posted a video on youtube sometime ago about it.
2) I checked my fuel pressure recently and I got readings that appeared somewhat backwards to what I have read from others. Primed pressure was at about 45 PSI while operating pressure at idle was 50 PSI and rock solid. I have read that the prime pressure is normally the higher value and it drops once operating which makes sense. Hmmmmm
3) It does appear that the code was thrown based on the filling of the tank with fuel. I drove for days error free with under a half tank and literally within 30 minutes of filling the tank it came up. Maybe a coincidence but maybe not?

I have no experience with this code but maybe driving with cluster test 6 (I believe) will allow you to see a patterne between fuel quantity (on each side) and error appearance.

If you suspect fuel delivery problems, drive down to zero DTE. If the pump or siphon or fuel pressure regulator or fuel filter are at fault you will starve of fuel when there is 20-70 miles DTE. If you can drive down to single digits all those items can be eliminated (save some crazy intermittent issue).

There are a few parts other than the dtml for atmospheric venting without letting fuel vapors loose. From my understanding it's the other components that fail that will cause this error code. The pump pressurizes the fuel tank. If the pressure doesn't hold there is a leak somewhere. You may be able to find simply by sniffing.

There is a filter to allow venting from heat there is a valve to close the system there is valve that closes if you flip your car upside down. Look at real OEM and trace all the parts in the fuel supply. If when you open the gas cap you don't get the whoosh there is a leak. If you do get it you may just have a loose wire.
