Parking Distance Control: Aftermarket possible?

You know the beeping mechanism when you park you car - i think it's PDC, not sure.

1. Hw much at the dealer? Pre-delivery?

2. Can you factory install after you leave the dealership? I've been told that you have to order it before delivery and that you cannot order after the car has been delivered/driven off. If so,

3. Which leads to, if I cant get it factory installed, "is there a way to install one of those aftermarket"?

4. What kind? How much? Where?

The answer is....YES! This is one of the few options you can retro-fit and have it look and function the same like the one from the factory. The retrofit kit costs about $600 and comes with the sensors, a new switch console and all the wiring. As long as your car has Xenon lights the wiring for PDC will be there.

I'm sure someone can post the part # for the retrofit kit.

See this link . If I recall correctly, my PDC kit was about $525 from Crevier BMW. It's well worth it and not too terribly difficult to do. There are some aftermarket solutions but Nothing beats an OEM kit that incorporates a factory dash panel/switch. It works very well.
