These trucks are tanks!
This weekend, was at my cousins place, truck parked on the street. House in front had a vehicle reverse out, and hit my drivers side rear door. My cousin saw it happen, heard a loud bang, saw the guy get out, look at my truck, get back into his vehicle and LEAVE! We went out side to look at the damage, and upon initial viewing, could not really see any damage to my truck as it was dirty and covered in road salt. Did see a piece of broken plastic on the ground, which was from the vehicle that hit me. Well luckily my cousins know their neighbours and we went across the street to find out who just left. Happened to be their own tenant, so they gave me his contact info and I called him and asked him to return. He told me he was in a rush to get to the airport to pick up his mother-in-law, and that he would be back in an hour. Fine. Took some water and a rag to clean off the side, and as soon as I ran my hand along the door bumper strip, you can feel the dent in the door, and visually see the strip is bent. Here is the damage: ![]() ![]() and then the damage to his vehicle: ![]() ![]() ![]() Now, as far as I can see with my naked eye, the only damage is the door moulding strip, and a slight dent. I think a PDR (paintless dent repair) facility should be able to get it out and straight for me. An hour later the person who hit me came back home and I got all of his information. Says he will pay damages up to $1,000 or through his insurance if it is higher. I've made an appointment with my body shop for tomorrow morning to see if there is any more damage than what I can see, and then take it from there.
