Any Android smart watch guys?

I resisted for years until this summer when a chance to buy a year old refurbished one came up. For $75, why not!

Anyway, I was piddling around last night and found the *coolest* watch face app. I like watch faces in general, but on a smart watch, the affinity can be addicting. I was *very* surprised to see this one come up and thought you guys would like it.

That looks cool. I have the Gear S3 Frontier with a black metal band. Love it.

I wear a casio pathfinder titanium solar normally since I don't have to change the battery and its indestructible compared to normal watches. I put the S3 on when I leave the house. It has its own phone number and my cell phone will forward to it too.

Very handy when I go in stores and stuff since it keeps me from having to take the cell phone in since its a cell phone too. I have a note 8 cellphone and that thing is huge.

The watch face I normally run has all the info on it like time, date, day, battery power, steps, calories burned and heart rate.

Nyah. That was just the screenshot. The 1st one was an LG and the one I just got (also $74) was Verizon's 'Wear 24' that they stopped selling 3 mos after offering it.

I dunno what the specs are, but the VZ watch is a bit snappier than the LG from 2016. Like Android radios, pretty much any PC, and coming soon- most cars-
they're all the same specs/thing- just a different brand.

Oxymoron: Smart and Android in the same sentence. It's like Jumbo Shrimp, or military intelligence.

Except the Gear S3. That's why I went with it. It doesn't run android it runs tizen. On the same hardware its almost twice as fast as android. Its written specifically for the device where android is a run anywhere sort of deal.

Not near as many apps for the tizen based watches but its faaast compared to the android ones.

Has a killer cell phone in mine too. It gets about the same signal as my regular cell phone does which really surprised me. I figured as small as it is it wouldn't pick up worth a flip. I don't talk directly on it unless I have to because Im not a fan of speaker phones.

But if you pair it with a headset or to your car stereo it works just as well and clear as a full size cell phone.

You forgot my favorite one: Idiot Savant.

But yes. A much smarter choice would be the phone company that throttles use without telling the ignorant user before he's off to replace the phone for $1,000.

That just *sounds* smart.
And it is, if you're the company bending over your own ignorant users for it. It's little different than what VW did. Apple gamed the system by releasing a device that would not perform at all consistently over its lifetime. But they got to come out on release day and heat up the market with spec test after spec test. But what were those results? If they're unsustainable due to software intentionally manipulated, they're LIES- just like VW. Apple *knew* it and they lied to millions. I can't wait to find out which other devices they're throttling.

$39 Battery? Yeah. How 'bout Apple makes a phone that can perform with the available hardware instead? How about some (non-buggy) software that *doesn't* cause your phone to go to sh!t? How about Apple do *something* other than head to the iPhone ATM every month to spend money on driver-less space shuttles. YoooHooo! Over here! It's your user base! The people funding the space ship!

And that's why I can't say much.
My wife and daughter have always run the Apples in the house. iDevices, MacMini, IMac, and even the jacked up phones. I even replaced the hard drive and boosted the ole MacMini to 16GB last Fall. Damn thing flies. I just can't believe that Apple tried to use a device- with ZERO moving parts- that wasn't able to perform as well as it did on the day we bought them. And Apple KNEW it. Apple tried to HIDE it (by silencing it). And only once someone else exposed them did Apple ADMIT it.

My teenage daughter even has an iWatch (or whatever). They're great little toys for a kid her age. My wife wouldn't buy one though I bet she'd take one if offered. They're very popular with females. In fact, 100% of the females in this house adore them!
But then, 100% of the females can't put an X5 watch face on their device.

Remember folks, this is for a device they're supposed to 'trust' what the designers think is the best experience. Seriously? It'd all be laughable if it weren't so unethical that it should be criminal. And to the millions of other idiots just like us who did the research, read the (fake) specs and then bought the Diesel Jetta. I mean iPhone.

No doubt. But that's more than I am willing to spend for the use I get from a smart watch.

Maybe later this year when they come out with the S4 and S3's are in the bins.

I have a Mac Desktop, and a laptop, but I'm a Window user migrating toward Android. Non of the car specific software I use for my cars can run on anything but windows. I just bought a Windows 10 tablet to run Techstream for the soccer mom Toyota minivan. I have Torque Pro on all my Android phones and tablet. I run Carsoft and BMW Scanner 1.4 on my old Sony Vaio laptop.

With the Windows 10 tablet, I'm going to see if I can get BMW Scanner 1.4 to run on it.

Haven't drank the Apple Cider.
