Valve Cover Gasket Guide

Hi Guys,

So I changed all of my spark plugs to NGK Iridiums today. Found most of the plugs/coils were soaked in oil. I am assuming this is valve cover gasket leak? If so, are there any decent easy to follow guides out there?

Will it cause any problems if i don't have them replaced?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I just completed this job on my 4.6is last year. I used DIY posted on Pelican Parts as my tutorial and I used another but I cant recall but I do remember the Pelican parts was very detailed and lots of pics step by step

Still had it bookmarked

https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm

I also did CPS seals and vanos seals both mine were weeping but removing all the valve cover stuff made it wide open to change those 2 seals.

Awesome! Thank you kindly. Out of curiosity any other items worthy of replacing during the same time? I'll probably do plugs but that's about all I can think of "while I'm at it." Think you mentioned CPS seals and Vanos above.

Correct real easy access with all that junk off I also swapped out the plug boots too at $5ea it was a no brainer. Oh and I swapped all rubber grommets on valve covers even on appearance panel covers and the gaskets for that too. I only have 49k on mine and couldnt think of anything else to swap while in there but I did check all hoses etc they were fine. I swapped out coolant recovery tank too since I had to remove that and hard line off tank as I broke that.
