Your car being a 2005, the trifecta lights could be from either the transfer case actuator motor gear or the ABS module itself going bad. Your quickest way to know which caused it is to scan for codes. From your description of the front wheels acting weird, my bet would be on the ABS module. This was my problem a few month ago on my '04. Google search on ABS module repair as there are a few shops that can perform this repair for you.

It could also be a bad steering angle sensor. Get the codes read, It should point you in the right direction.

As stated by dkl, without scanning her it is very difficult to see what it might be. ABS module seems to me also, but it could also be the speed sensor in that wheel, but that would have other consequences as well, I can't recall if it's speedometer that wouldn't work either or what.

Also, a malfunctioning ABS module is a total nightmare, been there before. When they're really bad makes the car behave weird, all kind of gremlins everywhere.

Mine was having transmission failsafe program activated all the time, self leveling suspension inactive and deflated in the highway several times, none of the indicators in cluster working but revs, battery discharged overnight, and so on. You get the point.

Yours seems to have the hand brake released but still the light is on in the cluster, not sure if it's like that or I saw it incorrectly but that's a sign of a bad abs module.

Start by doing a scan with a bmw compatible, not generic. It won't go through these modules.

This problem occurs when the weather is cold,, today there was no error when the temp was warmer in the 50's.

I just checked the car errors are back, its 32 degrees,

Does that piece of info help narrow down the problem?

The translation for the 2nd error was missing a T in the german error. See above now.

These are almost all related and can be one of 2 things: ABS/DSC module (that is very sensitive to temperature when they get old) or the steering angle sensor BUT is less probable to be this.

Since you have INPA, try accesing the DSC module with the engine running while parked. And pay attention to see if it gets disconnected randomly. If so, you have 90% chance it is the culprit. Also check the harness and wiring that connects to it looking for anything wrong or loose.

Let us know.

It has been 2 days now with no trifecta error and the weather has been cold. I will update shortly with more information from INPA, thank you for the correction of the fault code message.
