I know a guy that charges $1500 by using the special tool designed for it.

A whole lot of time in that time lapse shows nothing going on around that engine. It also isn't really necessary to drop the engine out of the car. A lot of people standing around doing nothing on that engine. Hopefully not being billed against the valve stem seal work.
