Any Ideas how to get this off?
Its rusted to oblivion. The Locking tabs broke off when I hit them with a screwdriver and hammer, but the socket can't even be hammered onto the axle nut... Any thoughts, short of a torch or a whole new hub? Okay, well it won't let me upload photos from either firefox or chrome, internal server error, or site can't be reached message keeps coming up ![]() Maybe I will try to add the photos again later..

12 pt 36mm socket you can use a sharp chisel and BFH to chisel the nut back to shape before using the socket. Takes on the order of 600/900 ft·lb to remove

You can use this tool to straighten out the indent in the axle nut. It made for Toyota/Lexus but I'm pretty sure it will work on a BMW.

Please note that some aftermarket axle shafts using non-standard over-sized nut. I had to go to the store to pick up 1-5/8” socket to replace CV boot on my wife’s car (2005 4.4). The axle was replaced by the previous owner. I had to re-use the non-standard nut since new standard nut did not fit on the threaded end of the aftermarket CV joint. Where you in Maryland?

Added Photos, apparently the originals were too large, and I had to reduce them by about 75%

Any Ideas how to get this off?
Wow so that's not coming off with a socket! I would saw that off. I have a right angle tool for my Dremel. Cut where the notches are in the axle. Patience with a chisel and Hammer could be done

Driver's side must have been replaced.
The axle nut is not very hard material. the hub is press-fit with a gagillion psi into the bearing it will not be a problem of you nick it when cutting off the nut. Since the axle is being replaced through it will shower with sparks the easiest method would likely be to cut straight through the axle with a right angle grinder. You may need to use a smaller diameter than new blade to get deep enough and that rusted you may need to cut into quarters to remove. That is an amazing amount of rust. There isn't that much rust on my entire 17 year old E53! Not exaggerating Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
