I will post pictures once I get a chance. The way the alternator is made is that the bottom bolt, which is the long one, goes from the front of the alternator hole and through the alternator bracket on the engine and into the back portion of the alternator where the threading is. This back portion is there the bolt was broken off. The front portion doesn’t have any threading. So I had to get a bit long enough to reach th back to drill off the portion of the broken bolt that DIDNT clear the alternator bracket on the truck. Now that the alternator is off the truck it’s a pain in the you know what to remove that small little 1/4 inch piece of post that’s still in the threading portion of the alternator. It looks like the threading portion is a separate bolt and I’m wondering is I can knock it out but I didn’t see any separate part number on REALOEM so I don’t know.

Is the alternator still stuck in the car because the bolt broke off? Is the threaded part in the block or alternator?

Reply with the last seven of your VIN we can look on realoem

Yea its out of the truck.

I’ve decided to get a new alternator. Can’t be bothered with the hassle.
