The pump should prime (2 or 3 seconds) when you first turn the key to the on position (position 2) and then stop. It will begin pumping again when it gets the RPM active signal to the relay from the DME.

A phillips screwdriver and a couple minutes of your time. Just remove the glovebox and lower the fuse/relay panel.

You're describing a burnt out fuel pump. You can do a continuity test if you have a meter. Unplug the pump and check for continuity. Set the meter to volts and test for a signal.

My X5 was running fine at a red light. The light turned green and I gave it gas, the engine bogged down and died in the left turn lane leaving Sam's Club. The engine would start and run for a few seconds, then die again. AAA came to get me, I pulled the pump and it had no continuity. The pump died at the light. I got several starts where the engine ran very weak, much like I am reading in your posts.

If your pump has no continuity, then it is toast. If it has no power, then you lost the relay.

So after taking down the fuse box and removing the relay and doing some test the relay seem fine, I also barrow a relay from a friend bmw just to be sure.. I also did the bypass but the relay had two 87 pin so I wasnt to sure which one I needed to connect with the 30 pin so I did it to both 87 one at a time.. still didn't hear the fuel pump come on once.. any other ideal on what to check?

So after doing some more testing I realize I wasnt drawing any power to the relay.. what can cause me not to get any power to the relay, could it be a bad pcm? Any fuses that I am missing to check?

Can any explain why the middle slot 87 right in the middle is missing.. is it suppose to be that way? Why does the relay have a prong for that slot, but the slot itself is missing

So after doing some more testing I realize I bypass the wrong pins (stupid mistake) after getting the fuel pump running after doing another bypass car still won't run right. I'm going post a link to the video of the car with the new fuel pump installed and with the bypass

Sorry about the bad camera angle not sure if I should've turn the phone sideway
