UPDATED - Fixed Dynavin N6 failing - any thoughts?

Hi all

I have two Dynavin N6's, one in each of our E53's.

For quite some time I have had an issue where the bluetooth function of the mic does not work at all except after a unit reset on my unit.

I can make calls, hear the person on the other end but they cannot hear me.

If I turn the phone to speaker the caller and I are able to speak through the phone no problem, and the bluetooth stays connected (ie music is muted). It goes back to music once the call is ended.

If the unit is reset, the mic function returns until the car is shut down and locked, whereupon on next using the car the mic does not work.

My phone is an iphone 7 with latest updates.

I also have an issue where the unit keeps crashing during music playing. It freezes and becomes unresponsive to any inputs from the screen or buttons. I listen to music on my ipod classic which I have connected via an apple cable (as I'm not into the local radio stations).

I reached out to Jeff from J and T approx 7 weeks ago and asked if they had any work arounds....

He has said that he thinks the crashing is caused by the ipod, and that they are investigating why the mic isn't working except after a reset.

As I use my 4.4 as a daily work vehicle it's getting to be a major pain, so yesterday I told Jeff I was getting done with over 7 weeks of trying to find a work around as they have offered no solutions.

Today he has emailed me saying that as a worst case I could return the unit and they will replace the main board and send it back, or send me a main board if I know someone handy.

I have absolutely no idea about audio electronics and opening up a unit myself seems like a recipe for disaster if I mess it up. The alternative is a hole in my dash for however many weeks while the unit is sent from Australia to USA and back....

Does anyone have any thoughts on the viability of opeing this thing up or suggested work arounds?

Cheers
