I am running 265 Falken Wildpeaks on style 69's, which are 8.5" across. If you had 8" wheels I'd say go for it, but a full inch difference might be pushing it. Not sure if this helps at all.

kspark those look amazing! I love the look. The 69's are one of my favorite wheels, didn't realize they were 8.5''. I know they came on early model pre-lci sport models.

Thanks! I believe the sedan versions came in 8", except the 7 series which had 8.5's in the back. The first gen X5 came with square 8.5's all around.

My E53 had the staggered 19" rims with 285s on the back and 255s on the front. I got sick of tyres lasting less than 20,000kms so I now run stock 17's with 236 65 17 all terrain tyres. Doesn't handle quite as well, but tyres last a whole lot longer.

I hear ya, Tom. I have squared 8.5" 18" rims and get about 80-100,000kms out of a set of tyres. Every time I see a 19" staggered set of wheels come up for sale, I remind myself of this and move on....

You guys are lucky I replace more front end parts than tires and apparently the surface of the sun has potholes too...
