Navigatoin Question

I just purchased a navigation system and when it came i realized that it wasn't an MK4 but rather an MK2....

I did read a lot about it but could someone please clearly tell me the biggest advantages that I would have if I had an MK4 over the MK2...

This biggest differences and what I would be able to do with an MK4 that I wouldn't be able to do with an MK2....

Thanks

The MkII isn't even a 16:9 screen is it?

The difference between a MkII and a MkIV is analogous to the difference between a Pentium II and a Pentium IV computer. Both will get you from point A to point B, but given the amount of time and effort required to do the retrofit, I would not even consider going with a MkII nav drive.

I think Greg may be correct in that the MkII may not properly display on the 16:9 nav screen.

Out that really does suck!!!
So now I have to look for an MKIII or an MKIV? Those things are expensive.

And as I asked before, If I do install the MKII can I later take it out and just plug and play MKIII or MKIV?

Sell the MKII and get a MKIV that way you don't waste $$ and time.
Plus w/ the MKIV you can view DVD's (if I am correct).

nope, can't view DVDs with anyone of them. The Mark IV will use a single DVD rom or the earlier CD roms, but not play regular DVDs. The Mark IV is a DVD based unit..

Yes, it would be a simple plug-n-play swap to upgrade the drive to a MkIII or MkIV later.
