Non-Return Valve parts found in engine oil filter during engine oil service (Update)
Well this is cute. Repairing this is going to be interesting.
SI B 11 09 05 calls to repair this under warranty but we are well beyond that at this point. I searched but I haven't found anyone else who has come across this. So far the dealer quoted me some astronomical price for the repair. We'll see tomorrow what the INDY says. This little valve is suppose to stop engine oil from draining from your engine to the oil pan overnight. The driver has no way of knowing this has occurred because the vehicle does not exhibit and drivability complaints. The price for the OilPump Is $600.00. Oil, labor? No clue. And I don't suppose BMWNA would consider some good will but I'm thinking about calling.
