Heating

Hi
Perhaps a stupid question but should it be possible to get hot air from these valves? Or is it just fresh air?

Yes you can. Rotate the dial in the middle of number 1 so it shows three red dots.

It's actually fresh air, heated up.

At least, as long as the IHKA is set to delivered fresh air. If it's on re-circ, then it's cabin air.

thanks for the response, that's what I thought but does not get hot air even though I adjust to 3 red dots (get heat on the floor and windows) someone who knows what might be wrong?

I believe that dial is connected by Bowden cable to a gear that opens and closes a flap to allow the air to flow over the heater cores. Could be broken or disconnected.

What vent setting is the IHKA set to? This affects which vents provide air (both hot and cold).

Have tried all the settings on IKHA but there is only cold air except down at the floor and at the windows

Seems like Fifty's suggestion is worth looking into then - the Bowden cables a control flaps....

The problem is solved, I dismantled the glove compartment and then gained access to the heat distribution, Bowden Wirer had fallen off the opening arm, thanks for all the good suggestions :-)
