I took my X5 to the track today !

I took my X5 to Bruntingthorpe proving ground which is a old US airbase but is now used for testing cars has a very long runway so you can have the car flatout pretty much depending on the wind conditions yes it does make a difference.

I went there a couple of years ago in my boxster and had such a good time, I thought I would take the X5 around there for a blast. It was better than I thought it would be could only manage 125mph along the straight was still going but, run out of tarmac. The X5 was 20% slower than the porsche on the corners I think I could have gone a bit faster but was worried about rolling it or running wide as does have a habbit of understeering. But well pleased all in all. You should have seen this guys face who was in a Lotus elise as the 2.5 ton truck stuck to him like glue. Anyway took some pics for you was still getting 14mpg even when ragging the X5! diesel rocks! Sorry for the quailty of the Pics I used the camera phone and was driving too

Is your x5 a 3.0?

What X5 do you drive, 3.0, 4.4 or 4.8?

Looks like he has a 4.4 or 3.0, there doesn't seem to be the illumination for revs on the RPM gauges.

Was your X imported? Your gauges show MPH instead of KPH as the default choice. I thought in London they would default the models to that gauge cluster
