4.8is starting to miss when cold and also when accelerating from low speed. Took it to my local mechanic who diagnosed a problem with the eccentric shafts and possibly the intermediate levers. After a couple of weeks I contacted him about a quote for the job and he told me that the cost of the parts alone would be $8,500. If I can confirm his diagnosis I am thinking of dropping the engine (together with subframe) and attempting the job myself. I would also be able to fix a couple of oil leaks. So far I have found it difficult to source the parts. Have seen the shafts in the US for about $1200 each. Any suggestions?
