O2 upstream

I just got in my upstream O2 sensors and they are 5 wire not 4 wire....

Does anyone know if I can cut and splice these in and if so what to do with the 5th wire... tie it into 1, 2, etc. or kill the 5th?

O2 upstream

I think you have the wrong part. From a quick search the 5-wire sensors are a different type of sensor used on newer cars either called wide band or maybe AFR type sensor. What's the make and model number on the new part?

The wide band sensors are powered so need an extra wire. The older tech uses a simpler system that actually generates voltage like a battery

You may think I have the wrong part but I can guarantee that I have the wrong part

I could only find part# 40-LA005600 in Kingdom and "supposedly" it's an acceptable replacement (throwing the BS flag). I may try to cut the 5th wire and connect it to power (if it's 12v) easy peasy. If not then no big loss as it was only $27.00 USD each.

Possibly I can get from Amazon but flat rate shipping starts at a minimum of $68 and anything cool, awesome or just different looking somehow doesn't make it through hadji customs...
