So, I got through the summer with the problem still there. I figure the switch would be well dryed out so no need to pull out. Here’s what happened the other day:

I drove into the shopping mall and pressed the button to lower the drivers window. No movement. Opened the door and tried the switch and it went down. I stopped pressing when it was half way and closed the door. Switch would not work. Opened door again to get it to work.

Very strange. Somehow opening the door lets the switch work when this problem occurs.

Check the wire loom that goes into door. There have been people that reported chafed wires before.

Ok, will do. Also found a previous thread that deals with the circuit board. But, I am not sure if it would be that as it seems to work after I open the door in some cases.

So, I wanted to finish off this thread to some degree. I replaced the ignition switch (small black unit that turns when you turn the key) but that didn’t seem to fix the issue. My drivers door lever mechanism again broke so I had the door apart and the master switch out. Opened up the master switch but could not see any water ingress issues. After putting it all back together and the door back together with a new handle mechanism I haven’t had a window issue since. By the way, I read elsewhere on how to correctly open the door and give the mechanism maximum life span.
