Do all the windows roll down when the car is off and you hold the unlock button on the key fob down?
If so, it may be a fault in the drivers master switch module in the door...

I will give that a try. Do I need to disconnect the battery neg terminal if I pull the switch module and uncip the leads? Just dont have the bmw software tools to reset anything. I can reset the radio no problem.

^No need to disconnect the battery unless you unplug the airbag. You could also test the windows by inserting the key into the driver's door lock and turning to unlock and hold the key in the unlock position. It will roll all your windows down.
If it does turn out to be your master switch, I have one available I could sell. Shoot me a PM if that turns out to be the problem.

For the wiki, I was having Window issues on rear PS . I was thinking the master switch controls it alllll.....and the other switches were just dummy.
I cannot recall which one it was but I think I replaced the rear DS switch - which I was suppose was a gremlin in the mix. |

Thanks guys. I tried the window suggestions. Yep, the windows open using either key or actual lock method. I should have mentioned that this issue doesn’t occur all the time. Sorry, forgot to mention that important bit.
Number of other possibilties including the ignition switch. No offense taken Crystal. smile. I have driven in the US and you get used to whatever. I will take the module out and wiggle some wires, unplug some, etc. and see if it makes a difference. Rain can get into these things easily. |

Sounds like a good place to start, talljames.
And your offer was very kind, crystalworks - regardless of where you drive! That's what make this group so great!
