Out of curiosity, why?

The only reason is to fill out the wheel wells more, I don't like the amount of gap and think that maybe a slightly taller/wider tire would make it look better

I wouldn't put tires that are wider than my wheel well on a car. That's why I am asking about it on a X5 forum and not asking about it for my M5 lol... this can't be the first time this has been done or asked. I come from owning 4Runners both which were lifted with large tires. I am basically looking for the biggest/widest tires that would work without a lift or spacers.

I am unfamiliar with 18" tire sizes but you could definitely go taller. Wouldn't go much wider on an 8.5" wheel. But taller would definitely clear the fenders. Let me see if I can find the wheel/tire size calculator I usually use...

I just noticed how high the offset is on those. Be sure to check clearance at the strut/spring.

I appreciate that! I will have to check the clearance I will be honest I haven't checked yet I was hoping someone had already done something similar.

The only one I can remember that did really big tires is fluid motor union. But that x5 was HEAVILY modified.

Edit: here's the one I use. https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/

265/65/18 any bigger you will rub at turns. It will be a tight fit as is.

I'm running 315/35z/20 on the rear and apart from my pos DSC issue I love them, but over here there's not much choice in brands. Perrielli, Michelin or Chinese copies.
