MTCB and MTCD explanation can be found on XDA Developers website:

The launcher you have pictured is the CarWebGurus launcher:

And the install is as easy as running the app from the Google Play store.

Car Pro Launcher help

I installed Car Pro Launcher (or Car Launcher Pro?) on my Avin the other day and cannot figure out how to change the default screen icon arrangement. My screen has two larger icons up top and a host of small icons across the bottom, which I added. I can add/delete/rearrange the small icons I added but cannot figure out how to change the default large icons that take up half the screen. It has Bluetooth on the left and "time of arrival" on the right. I have no idea where it's even coming up with time of arrival!?

I will try to add a picture as I know that's helpful.

Thanks

Tried it and it does not play nicely with the IBUS app.

Another set of post installation questions:

Car is a 2005 UK-spec X5 4.8is with Nav and DSP. The radio I installed is from Xtrons; it's the PE9853BIPL with the large format display and no knobs or conventional buttons on the front. The more modern look and brighter display do modernise the interior a bit which is good.

I can't get the Resler IBus app to display the car's oil temperature - it's always blank. All other engine values seem to display OK. There is an oil temp gauge in the dash which is getting oil temp from somewhere. Any ideas how to get the Resler app to "find" the oil temp?

In playing around with the fader settings I have discovered that no sound comes from any of the rear speakers. I've only had the car for some 9 months and I can't honestly say if the rear speakers ever worked. Any ideas where to start looking? I can temporarily reinstall the old head unit to see what happens.

I'm getting to grips with Android again after having moved to Apple products perhaps 4 years ago. All going OK on that front. Am playing around with the Car Launcher Pro skin.

There should be 3 different settings for the oil temp values. All I can suggest is to try all of them and see if one comes through. It did not work on my 3.0L but one of the settings gave me values but they were not correct so I simply removed the OT from my iBus home screen.

As far as your fader, do not use the settings in the XTrons EQ settings. Set them all to flat including the fader and make any changes in the iBus EQ settings.

Thanks for the quick reply. Have done as you said and the audio side is now working fine. Still no luck on the oil temperature though - have tried all the different methods. I see that I also don't get an oil level reading coming up so perhaps the sensor is bad or there's another setting that needs to be tweaked to read data from it.

Not sure how the 4.8 engine oil level and oil temperature values are displayed but maybe shoot Rolf Resler an email asking him if he knows any of any known issues displaying the oil temp/level values within the iBus app on your specific model. As far as I know, the 4.8 should show the oil temp value so maybe the sensor has failed.
