Short DIY on Philips X-treme Ultrinon LED on BMW X5 2005. These lights are supposed to be the most advanced in LED technology. It took me about 30 minutes, that was the easy part... editing the video on a new software... Now that was the challenge, man it took me about 8hr for a 5-minute video. LOL please give me feedback. Very nice! Appreciate the work. The main reason I don’t make DIY videos is because a 5 minute video would take me 7 weeks to edit. ALL of my videos I post are start to stop clips.

I changed mine to led without removing the bumper cover. I just reached down the hole in the fender area and turned the bulb and removed it then changed out the bulb. Mine is a 2005. Are there certain years that works and some years that you cant do that?

What part of the fender? Mine does not have any gap that I could do it easily, so I removed the bumper cover. Fairly easy about 30 minutes total time.

I just reached in thru the fender where it meets the front of the car from under the hood. Wasn't "easy" but I was able to reach it.

Do you have a link for the units you purchased? I have been steadfastly against this mod in years past but now the fog lights are my DRL's and I'd like to amplify them for this purpose. I did find these:

Also, Overboost and others, I will need to setup NCS or the most flexible product for coding. I have a machine with serial ports if that's even still necessary. Other than that, I'm at sq 1.

My ultimate goal is all LEDs on the signals and fogs with cold check removed for each.

I will be gone for 2 weeks though so the urgency is as close to nil as it can get.

Yes, those are the one that I purchased. I am happy with them.

Understood. I did it this way because I needed to see where I was going to place the LED ballast and what not.
