Anyone running Atturo AZ 800 tyres?
The Atturo AZ 800 tyres I've ordered are manufactured in Taiwan through the Federal Tire Company. Do any forum members have any experience with these, and if so, what's your opinion? |

Hi yes im currently running a set of them , only thing I find is they are a bit noisy other than that they are OK . In the past I run Kumhos which were a lot quiter . But for the price I got the Atturo's for I thought I would give them a go.

Thanks for the reply Skier1. Noisy I can put up with, as most of my driving is on rough country roads, with aggressive bitumen surfaces, so the Kumhos are quite noisy anyway. How are they wearing? I bought them primarily due to the price and tread pattern, as it's about to get very wet where I live (south west of WA) and road grip will be an issue. I need tyres with good water displacement and as little aquaplaning as possible. Hopefully these will do the trick.

Yes I am on rough country roads as well so a bit extra noise makes no difference to me .Have only had them on for about 5000 kms so not sure as yet what the wear will be like but at the price I got them I cant really complain. So far they seem quite good in the wet.

Given the amount of rain you've had in the east recently, I would imagine that you've had plenty of time to test them in the wet. Great to hear they're okay. Will see what they wear like in due course.

Some of these cheapie Chinese tyres have been really surprising me. Ran some "Achilles" rubber on my wifes old Focus XR5 turbo, and they were simply sensational. Currently running "Pace Azura" rubber on my X5 - brilliant. No doubt about it. So good that I will be shopping for Chinese rubber when it comes time to put hoops on her 3 series M sport. Some really good stuff coming out of China lately I reckon, well worth buying IMO.

Car & Driver teamed up with Tire Rack to test a popular "made in China" tire (from the largest tire manufacturer in China, with engineering facilities far beyond what other China tire manufacturers possess).
Tire Test: Nine Affordable Summer Tires Take On the Michelin PS2 - Comparison Tests "Consistently finishing last in all of the performance categories, the Ling Longs’ dry autocross performance was so far behind the other tires’ that we had to round its score up to zero to keep it from being negative" The China tires placed 9th (dead last) in the tire test. It scored less the 1/2 the point of even the 8th place tire. I'm glad you guys are happy with the atturoAZs, but after seeing how the flagship China tire performed in testing, they still have a Ling LONG way to go.

PO put them on my 4.8is, If they weren't new and the car was driven more, I would have tossed them immediately and get Conti DWS. Atturo's are the Nosiest tire on the face of this Earth, I wish they didn't make them in this size!

I am pretty picky when it comes to my rubber. I have had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Federal Tire Co from previous owners. They are just horrible tires in every aspect aside from treadware (which is probably why they suck everywhere else). I have thrown away two brand new sets. I can't imagine their Atturo line is any better. They may seem like a decent tire to the inexperienced, and sure they will get you to work and back, but so will shopping cart casters.
