eBay Running Boards

What is the consensus on these; anyone used them before?

Crowz will become famous soon enough
My 2001 and my 2013 has them and our 2005 doesn't. I don't like them personally as they are not large enough to do any good and just get the back of your pants legs dirty getting in and out of the car.

As for adding them no I haven't ever done that so no opinion on the kits themselves.

That kit does look pretty complete though and a decent price.

+1 on the dirty pants leg issue. I have to wear dress clothes to work and the 'boards stick out far enough that I can't get out of the car without the back of my calf rubbing against them. If the X is dirty, so will the back of your pants leg. If that is not an issue, go for it!

Those would probably be the best alternative compared to oem. They bolt on just like them and come with pretty much everything oem would.

Thanks for the reply's everybody, Ive got the OE dealer accessory running boards on one e53 already so I understand the lack of functionality. I'm most interested in feedback on the the quality of the eBay special kit. I am considering them for appearance only.

I don't have those particular ones but by the looks of them and how they mount up Im pretty sure they should be just as good. If you are using them for appearance I would definitely choose those over some other ones Ive seen over OEM. Just my thoughts.

Having recently installed factory running boards, those ebay ones look identical to me. Even the fender trim pieces seem the same. You'll need to order a bunch of the plastic fender rivets, though, as I don't see those in the pictures.

These look identical to the OEM. Even the hardware with the yellow zinc coating is the same. I wouldn't be surprised if they bought the tooling from BMW and started reproducing them lol
