A couple of final questions before pulling the cylinder head
Weather (and nerves) permitting I知 taking the cylinder head off my 3.0 M54 tomorrow. First timer...
I have the front exhaust manifold disconnected but not off. Going to try to take the head off with the rear manifold attached or at least get it up in the air enough to get on the bolts. I did a re-torque on the head bolts and 2 of them were loose but held torque to 50 ft lbs. Concerning but at the same time encouraging. Also found out that you kinda have to put your back in it to get to 50 ft lbs. I was trying to be careful not to go too far.
Haven稚 decided what to do with the cams. Leaning toward pulling them in place to save weight but I知 a little unsure of the loosening procedure and the lifters coming out so I知 gonna sleep on it.
Wish me luck.....
