Window Regulator DIY Question
The DIY Window Regulator replacement instuctions state:
Note, if you don’t disconnect the battery and you insert the key to
raise/lower the window while the airbag is removed, the airbag light may illuminate and will require a service visit to reset. It’s best to disconnect the battery, but I don’t know how one would get the window in the right place the first time. Proceed at your own risk! ***
I bought a new window regulator and was planning on installing it soon.
Is it absolutely necessary to disconnect the battery?
Can I just reconnect the airbag connector prior to inserting the key in order to test the regulator without having to reinstall the entire door panel?
This is my first time playing around under the door panels. I know many of you have done this procedure before, any advice additional to the DIY instructions would be much appreciated.
