I've had that happen.
Make sure you aren't having am fm radio launch in the background (like mine) as it seemed to only be able to shut the hissing off after launching a different music app and then shutting it down

But then again I've had my touch screen activated by a fingerprint when the sun hit it just right (total guess)....

You're onto something there EODguy, radio is launched. Let me experiment to make sure...

Thanks!

Hissing persists after restarting the unit with no other app running except Ibus app. Shutdown Ibus app and hissing stops. Contacted Avin and response is "How to fix ground noise. Use a wire to ground the metal frame of the radio to a bare metal part of the car."

I'm yet to try the above but did anyone do this during their install?

All indications on my end is that the Ibus app is the source of the hiss. It's a constant hiss (sssssssssssssssss) that does not change with vol, happens whether engine is on or off, vol level has no effect but stops when at 0 level. My workaround now is to turn ignition on, wait for the HU to finish booting and Ibus app starting up, turn off ignition and immediately turn it back on. Hissing sound then disappears.

No I didn't do any extra grounding but then again I left enough knuckle skin to make a path to ground....

I just did that …. not that one but an actual grounding as recommended by Avin . Seems to work I have to listen really, really hard to hear the significantly diminished hiss. May be my head is the one hissing now.

I'd be interested if you ever get screen activation without touching when you get a glancing ray of sunlight

Spoke too soon Hissing sound is still there (sssssssssssssssssssssssss) even after grounding. It seems to go away (like before) if ignition is turned off and back on immediately. Also when IBUS app is not running or is restarted, then no hissing sound. Do I have a faulty system? Or could it be that optional sound chip I have. Does anyone else have it?

Interesting that after grounding the HU to the frame inside the dash, AM radio stations are now received clear with no static .

If you don't use the radio app and are streaming or using a media player app almost exclusively then uninstall radio app and see what happens to your hissing.

I don't use radio at all over here (can't stand sheep jingles with throat singing) anyway, my radio app re-initializes after any full reset or reconnecting the battery....

See if you're getting uninterrupted power when the car goes to sleep? If it loses power completely when off it could be resetting like mine and the turning off then back on wouldn't leave time for a full shutdown and may be why it goes away then...

Seems to be some sort of software issue. I'm unable to code DSP per these instructions using IBUS-App: https://support.avinusa.com/hc/en-us...l-Update-Guide

INPA/DIS/Bimmercode can talk to the DSP, turn it on, etc. No error codes stored. When turning on DSP using these apps, the hissing sound goes away.

Is everyone else able to code their DSP using the IBUS-App? Are you able to read data off it using IBUS-App?
