I wonder if all I need to do is to verify that my IBus app setting is correct. In any case, Hella does not make N62 engine oil level sensor - looked at both FCPEuro and Hella website. FCPEuro has OEM and Vemco oil level sensor for the N62 engine. Not sure if Vemco will fix the display in case I needed to upgrade the oil level sensor.
When I was trying to get it to work a few weeks back, I changed my settings to LCMIV but it still didn't work. That's what made me decide to try replacing the level sensor.

Might be worth checking in your case. I'm fairly sure it defaults to LCMIII.

I just installed the new Resler USB IBUS interface and the updated app. The setting was already on LCMIV but still no oil temp. I've placed an order for the Vemo oil level sensor from FCPEuro. It's actually more expensive than BMW OEM.

Hopefully it'll show the oil temp - fingers crossed. If not, at least I will get my money back. I'll just do a quick swap (without actually installing it in the sump) and see if it registers oil temp.

Hi all

just a quick question regarding the extension cable

does a Xtrons cable will fit on an Avin4?

i've just bought an avin4 from a guy near me but he has NOT oem navi so i didn't ordered it
order a new cable from avin will cost more for shipping than the cable itself,
Xtrons can be easily found on Ebay/Amazon.

TIA

At least one end of the cable will be the same. You'd have to search for pinouts of both the Avant 4 and the xtrons to compare.

I've always wondered the same. My android head unit (non Avin) actually has an Avin folder in the directory structure so I'm sure all these things are made similarly. Of course if there's anything consistent in life with this sort of stuff... it's that there is nothing consistent with this sort of stuff.

I might have a pinout for both units (Avin and other Android) but will have to look in my parts bin for the short harnesses I didn't use. Will compare IF I can identify both. But my unit is not an Eonon so there again, might still be different.

I thought the extension cables extended the BMW quad-lock connection itself - so it should be the same for all brands? You still use the model-specific-to-quad-lock cable supplied with the particular model you have?

One end will be the same, the one that connects in the rear. The one in the front that connects to the head unit, good question.

All the extensions I've seen don't seem to work like that - they are quad-lock to quad-lock. You still need to use the short quad-lock to head-unit cable that came with the head-unit.

But I guess there will be variations to this.

well for sure the end that goes onto the Bm24 is the same,
Ibus module will be the same story as they're identical in all the androids units.

my worries are about the other end and the round pin/flat pin model.

having a pinout sheet for the 2 models will be a great advantage

Thanks

I have AVIN 4 installation questions for the AVN4411PX610-bt-mic-7TSP AVANT 4 Multimedia Navigation System for BMW 3-Series E46 / M3 I recently purchased. I realize this is a E53 forum, but AVIN customer support is poor and YouTube did not yield answers to my questions.

Background
I purchased both the front (non-wireless) and rear wireless cameras. I am seeking to install the front camera in the grill and the rear wireless camera in the license plate light assembly.

Front Camera Questions
1. Is there an "accessory wire" in the front of a 2005 BMW 330CIC that I can tap into? If, yes where is it and how do I identify it?
2. Is there a "ground wire" in the front of the vehicle to tap into? If yes, where is ti and how do I identify it?
3. Can I just ground the front camera to the vehicle body instead of tapping into a wire?

Rear Wireless Camera Question
1. How do I identify the reverse positive wire?
2. Does it make a difference which ground wire I tap into?

Thank you!
