Very stupid question
Hey guys, I have a very stupid question, I almost feel too stupid to even ask it. Can you guys please tell me what the Tire Pressure button in the X5 does, and when I should use it?!?! I'm not to sure what the hell to do with it. They told us at delivery, but I wasn't paying attention to it. Please help.

IFlyX5 is on a distinguished road
Pushing the button memorizes the current pressure on the tires. If the pressure drops it will alarm you.
Refer to page 97 in the 2003 User's Manual (I couldn't find any references to this button in the 2004 User's Manual - strange!)

Sooo....I don't ever have to check the tire pressure on the car?!?! It'll alarm me when I need to?!?!

Sorry, I got an '04 and just like IFlyX5 said, there's nothing in my "black book" stating what the hell the button does. Never owned a BMW before so I'm unfamiliar with it. The search button was also no help. So I thought I'd make a thread. No need to be condesending, I thought the point of a forum was to help people.

md's comment was more to the point that BMW's are a "driver's vehicle", and you should enjoy every aspect of the experience. While the tire pressure monitoring system is convenient, it's still a good idea to periodically check it yourself just to be sure the pressure is where it should be and there are no glitches in the matrix that would be preventing the vehicle from alerting you that your tire pressure is low.

Was not tryring to appear/read condescending...jes'a lil' poke. The TP deal is only gonna give you a "warning"; it does not tell you continual real time pressures. One has to do occas. "maint. checks" on their vehicles on a reg. basis. As one wise poster said here, these cars are not toasters.

I still recommend perusing the topics of the main page and reading the manual.

This board is The Place for X info...
