Still have my shimmy after the front end has been replaced. My front struts are shot and I am fully convinced they are bouncing uncontrollably causing my shimmy. They came in today. Wish me luck.

Yes- Meyle HD Rotors and Meyle HD ball joints, and control arms. Also replaced the tie rod ends..
CV Axles are also new.

Firestone currently has it since they just put new Duelers on it and it still is giving a shimmy.

Not sure if anyone mentioned the lower torsion strut arms? Number 6 on real oem. The are the ones that look like a weird bowed rib with the cylintrical bushing that is half rubber half hydraulic fluid located nearest the centerline of the truck? These will wear out and cause all sorts of alignment and tire wear issues. The bushings are number 7. Total junk and high wear item.

I’ll be replacing mine in a few weeks (along with other front suspensions parts). Symptoms:
Uneven tire wear (with balanced tires, new brakes & rotors)
Slight vibration at certain speed
Low speed clunk over speedbumps
Sloppy low speed steering feel
...the bmw mechanic saying they were shot

Balanced wheel not necessarily round. Did you check for out of round?

Ever swap from to back wheels?

I'll have to bump this one due to the same shimmy wheel problem and almost every part of suspension + 4 new rotors replaced and not fixing it.
Did the new struts fixed yours?

The mysterious cause when everything else failed can be the bearing at the top of the strut tower. It almst never wears out so nobody ever thinks about it.

Since it's preloaded with probably more than 1000#, (4500N), it won't ever wiggle from normal human forces unless you release the spring tension.

I've seen 2-3 cases on xo where the mysterious shimmy or clinks turned out to be that upper bearing.
