The problem is If the fluid ever got too low you'll get air Into the abs block. There are two procedures to run to activate the abs block and the abs pump. I'll look in the PDF Repair manual and see if I can find the process.
Flushing Brake System Completely
Bleeding Front Or Rear-Axle Brake Circuit

Andrewwynn, unfortunately just getting back to follow up on this post. I appreciate you taking the time to post.
I broke down and ended up taking it to the dealer to have them bleed it. I went through all the steps in ISTA/D and even found a way to engage the ABS unit while pumping. The directions I'd found, just like yours, didn't appear to follow any menu(s) I could find in ISTA/D. What I have deduced is that there are 2 people required to perform this type of brake bleed procedure. I believe that is where I messed up because I was attempting to do this all by myself. Tried engaging the ABS and pumping the brake pedal at the same time the brakes should be bled. Again, steps not laid out in ISTA/D but I was able to get confirmation that they did have 2 people performing the operation. Hope this helps someone else in the future. Second thought on this topic is that the 2 little holes in the plastic underbelly is where the road salt/brine gets to the brake lines to accelerate the corrosion. I would recommend rinsing these areas through the holes AND after dry, spray with CorrosionX heavy duty. |

Did just see this and will have to look into the hardware https://xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-forums/...sta-works.html and will have to look into the Foxwell NT520.
