I had a black Volvo V70R a couple of cars back and removed the badges to retrofit side markerlights and there was no fading at year three...I suppose you could compound the area.

I took my 3.0D emblems off!Maybe if I had a 4.8is ,I wouldnt?
I remember in the early 80s I had a company E30 316i and took the emblem off and stuck on a 325i one!No longer had an inferiority complex!

Alot of Merc owners do the same. Removing all of the badges including the rears. I does make it look very clean.

Hmmm, this gives me an idea. Is there a 5.0i badge? Gotta look in ebay.

I'll be the very first to have 5.0i X5

I am going to get the 4.8is emblem from the dealer, throw away the "is " and add the "D" that I took off from my 3.0D emblems and I will have the first 4.8D.
Bet I will have more torque than your 5.0i?

Gosh, how would you feel about the members here who have had the balls to retrofit a 4.8is or 4.6is spoiler kit on their non-4.8/4.6 X5's?
There's a guy around town here that has a current style Corvette. Apparently he likes it so much he bought a bunch more Corvette emblems, and stuck them EVERYWHERE on the car. My wife even laughs when she sees it! I'll have to get a picture of it for you guys!
