Oil filter adapter plate o rings

Hi everyone, got an oil leak I think it’s from the oil filter adapter plate on the right side of the engine, looking online it looks like there are 2 o rings from the pipes to the adapter plate and 2 between the plate and the engine block but the dealers are adamant there is only 1 between the block and adapter plate? Can anyone please let me know for definite, it’s the 4.6 m62tub46 thanks in advance Liam

www.realoem.com then input your ViN in BMW catalog.

This way you'll be able to see an exploded view of the parts and get part numbers specific to your ViN.

Thanks for that, using that site it seems that the dealer is correct, it was just when I looked at photographs of the reverse side of the plate it appeared there was an o ring for each port? I suppose i will just have to take it off and see?

I'm almost certain that it's 1 like the stealer says, but if your X had an oil leak before you got it then it could be someone's idea that "more is better" and they put extra on there to seal a crack, warp or just because....

As it turned out there are 2 o rings needed a google search of part number 11421435096 clearly shows a photograph of the rear of the adapter block with 2 o ring locations. Thanks for the heads up on realoem which sent me on the right path in the first place!

I see what you mean... I'm glad you got it sorted (even with my wrongness) hopefully you can get back on the road before the weekend. Best of luck
