the reason im asking is because i might be buying 22" DPE's from a guy that had them on his 2001 x5 3.0. So im wondering if these wheels would be okay for my 4.8

I know that the track is a different width on a 4.8 than it is on a 3.0 and 4.4. So i think those wheels will have a different effect on your 4.8 than it did on his 3.0

I just checked and the track widths on the 3.0 4.4 and 4.8 are all different.
So a wheel with the same offset will have a different look on all 3 of the vehicles.

dpe

The dpes on the guys car are exactly the same offset of a set of Hamanns. Call wheelpower.com and ask them what offet the Hamanns are. I myself run 22's DPE's on my 3.0i, The wheels flush with the fenders, if you want pics let me know

Yes,they will be fine on your 4.8.

Offsets are all the same thru out the X5s,eventhough the 4.6/4.8 have bigger discs!

so for sure the 22" DPE's from a 2001 x5 3.0 will be okay on a 2005 x5 4.8.

Can other people confirm this please, i just need more confirmation, thank you.

I pretty much trust "power1" because he is like the wheel/tire guru. thanks man you have been a big help with my tire and wheel stuff.

But ya if anyone else knows something different help me out thank you.

Powers1 is the man and I can assure you those DPE's will fit on your 4.8is. Pretty much any wheels that fit a 3.0 or 4.4 will also fit your 4.8. Only exceptions are those smaller 17s or some 18s that won't clear your much larger brake discs.
