feature that raises and lowers the steering wheel has stopped working
I have an x5 E53 feature that raises and lowers the steering wheel has stopped working, the steering wheel only moves 1-2 cm before it stops, anyone who has any good suggestions on what might be wrong ?? |

Do your memory seat functions work?
If not, it’s a controller unit under driver seat that needs replaced. My steering and memory seat functions stopped working- seat still works using individual controls - diagnosed as bad controller unit. Forget what the estimate was but I didn’t wind up fixing mine. |

+1.
The brain that controls the steering adjustment is in the box that holds the switches for adjusting the seat. I got one from a pick n pull yard for wife's X.

seat memory works and I can hoist to lower the steering wheel a few cm if I use the lever on the steering wheel, maybe there is something wrong with level sensors or something?

Does your seat memory work? If it doesn't it's your module. You'll still be able to adjust your seat with the controls even if the module is bad.

My wife's car when we bought it the memory didn't work but also no adjust of the steering.
Replaced with a used module now everything adjusts but the memory doesn't work. Or doesn't work properly I should say. I can set a memory value and it works immediately after but next time I drive if I hit the memory positiin the seat tries to go into the back seating area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
