Question Windhield Washer Sprays with Vehicle Off

Hello all. Long time stalker looking to pick your brains over a random issue I am having with my 2006 X5 4.4.

Long story short, the windshield washers will randomly spray when the vehicle is off. They operate normally under driving conditions, however this issue has me racking my brain. I have noticed that they will stop when I use the FOB remote to lock and unlock the vehicle. It is only the hood mounted sprayers. The headlight and rear windshield washers do not do this. My guess is that this issue has something to do with the faulty hood switch which I have yet to replace (and also randomly sets off my alarm,) or that the washer pumps themselves are failing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need any more information. Thanks in advance.

Look at the wiring diagram, if the relay has power always and just gets a signal to turn on than likely an issue with the relay getting a false signal from worn wires. Could be related to the hood switch issue; they likely share the same loom; might have some worn insulation and some cross connections going on

Headlight washers won't come on unless the headlights are on.

Thank you all for the helpful replies. I will check the relays as well as see if the problem persists after replacing the hood switch.
