N62 Vacuum hose routing
I am in the process of putting in a replacement engine on my 04. I took some pictures before removal but obviously not detailed enough. I am struggling with the vacuum line routing. Specifically off of the crankcase vents on each valve cover. Some pictures have a T joining each vent than to a nipple on top of intake hose. But on the X5, the nipple is on the bottom and there is a vacuum hose coming out of drivers side injection wiring box on top of engine that hooks up to that nipple on intake. I have looked everywhere online to no avail. Does anyone know of or have a picture of their 04/05 that can tell me where the vacuum lines go?? Thanks!

Highly interested in this as i was looking over my motor and noticed a vacuum line that is not connected. It is just open hanging out in the front of the motor. I removed the plastic covers and saw the pressure regulator on the valve cover (driver's side) and nothing was connected to it. From there, the vacuum line is extremely hard plastic and does not easily route to the pressure regulator on the valve cover. Also, the passenger side pressure regulator does not have a connection either...pictures would be extremely useful!

That does not attach to anything. It's the front differential vent. Not sure why BMW put it so high up and prominently visible. This question gets asked at least once every couple of months.

No worries. And correct the ccv diaphragms don't attach to anything either.
