Stereo

2005 e53, can't find a new head unit. Tried eonon, crutchfield, best buy. I emailed eonon and they said they don't have one anymore. Mine has the nav, but no amp.

Any ideas?

Thanks
John

I would recommend the Avin Avant-4. I have one and am very happy with it.
Lots of information on our website regarding them.

Hi

Keep in mind that with the Nav you have no audio inputs at the dash so you will likely need a (eg Fakra) cable that runs from the boot to the rear of the unit you choose.

Cheers

+ 1,000 . Had the Dynavin N6 and just installed Avant4, wow! I'm blown away by the sound improvement with DSP and factory speakers. And the coding features, wow - now have angel eyes as DRL, and side view mirrors auto close/open with ignition. Still busy playing with the features …. .

I put Xtrons Android units in my 2 X5's. One is the large screen with no button, but the other is a slightly smaller screen with buttons.

+ 1 on the need for the long (9-10 feet) cable for cars with NAV. It was a lot of work to run the cable so it looked good...remove front and most of rear seat, trim panels, etc. took most of a weekend.

If you have factory navigation you will need to run the cable. See post #5

You will also need to run the antenna extension as well.

eBay has plenty of Hu's available. It only took a few days for mine to get here and it supposedly came from China.

I went with Xtrons. Looks fantastic but a bit buggy. Maybe it's just the apps?

Unfortunately I can't comment on the sound VS. factory HU. Mine never worked.
