Hah! On the e61 5er to do the xfer car fluid you have to drop the exhaust and heat shielding. Beautiful design.
I don't have to ask you how you know. Ugh, I don't miss that night/morning at all!!

I looked into that Quickjack as well....trying to find a new house and not sure I'll have room for a "proper" lift. Time will tell I guess. I'm sure It's plenty safe for the e53, but mine would used mainly for a light duty e30.

It will all depend on the ceiling height in your new house. If you end up like mine with a room above it you may not have the height needed for a full size lift. I can easily make do with the QuickJack for everything I am doing on my garage. Words of wisdom though, once you have the ability to go under it at the drop of a hat, you will find more things that need to be addressed.

After my last 2 projects having the front splash shield and reinforcement plate off, I am seeing signs of an oil leak now and already prepping for my next project. OFHG and CCV to rule out the leak initiating from above.

Praying to the Bavarian Gods that is is not the dreaded 3.0L oil pan gasket.
