Wallet Key Programming

All, doing a refresh on my '05 X5 and one of the tasks is to get new keys. The wallet key was lost and both the remote keys are dead and won't charge. So, bought a new wallet and remote key from BMW Mini Store and am ready to program. Lots of instructions on how to program remote key but can't seem to find a way to program my wallet key. Anyone have instructions for this? I remember my Audi key had to be programmed by the dealer, is this the case for the E53 too? Thanks in advance.

Only remote has to be initialised. The immobiliser transponder on both keys is pre-programmed from the factory.

Doh! Thanks, the wallet key works like a charm, off to the garage to program the new key.

You can initialise the remote by yourself. No diagnostics or softwares needed.
