^This is what mine is doing as well. I have not replaced any components yet as I have another x5 in the garage getting a rebuilt valve body and other work.
I am suspecting the valve at the accumulator but won't know anything until I can actually look at it. Others have suggested re calibrating the ehc2 module as well. Best of luck, I've read many of these types of threads and more than a few of them have ended with removal of the air suspension in favor of coilovers or spring setups. I personally really like having the air suspension so will fight it until I've replaced everything if I have to.
