Thanks BC. The E46 just got the front and rear suspension rebuilt just before the current situation and even finished replacing the front control arms right at the start of our lockdown.

I am honestly wishing I hadn't spent that money now but I didn't see the seriousness of this pandemic a month ago. Now I have ended up with cars maintained and cleaned to drive nowhere. My job is gone for the foreseeable future. Hoping to start racing again in August sometime.

On the lighter side, I have gone from 18 MPG on the X5 to 3 weeks per gallon.

Looks great OB. That 330 is a beaut.

Working on the e70 today so no updates here for my poor x5. Ordered a huge backyard playset for the kids so they can still have some sense of normalcy (and stay out of mom and dad's hair for more than 5 minutes). Retiled our master bath floor (still need to grout). I'm half way through Contagion, eery to watch. Could be getting so much more done but it's hard to stay motivated all the time.

Right there with you CW. Hard to find any optimism right now. My wife is still working everyday at Target supplying products for all the hoarders.

The largest selling items besides toilet paper, hand sanitizer and food are kids bicycles and things like backyard tables, umbrellas and kids playsets.

Not too many bicycle sales down this way! One (slight) silver lining for those of you in the north is that you're heading into summer - it will make managing this situation somewhat easier. We're heading into winter (and flu season!), many folk didn't get enough winter firewood in yet (and now cannot do so) and the thought of being stuck indoors for weeks with stroppy kids will drive many parents to the brink of sanity!

Non-BMW project

Though I still have a few minor items to do on the E53, first I am renewing the front end on my 05 Tundra. The ball joints are done, just need to press in the 8 bushings in the upper and lower arms, removing them is the hard part! Renewing the bushings is not an easy project and if it weren't for having a lot of excess time I would have probably just bought a new set of lower and upper arms.

Still need to put new boots on the front drive shafts, another greasy mess I am not looking forward to..... After this phase is complete the next move will be the timing belt and coolant pump. Last are the rear axle bushings and a neat seat bolster. A quick drain and fill of the trans is also on the todo list. She will be good for the next 200k!

Nice work TriX5. I just went through all the bushings on the X5 a couple of months ago. Genuine PITA but a press makes the job a lot easier.

Yes mate, that's my 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6. Only about 170 MPH actually but it only has 1600 miles on it. I'll probably start cleaning on that in the coming weeks.
