Vacuum hose troubles
Among other things wrong with my 2001 X5 3.0, I found the vents are the only position that works. I got looking at the vacuum hose I found it not to be working. See attached picture. Does anyone know where it is suppose to plug in to?I also see a hard plastic line running up from the transmission and has a J on the end. I’m guessing this is the transmission vent? Thank you in advance for the help. Last edited by e7ats; 04-04-2020 at 10:00 AM. Reason: Updated car information. |

I think that vacuum hose comes from the interior heat sensor found on versions with manual AC (IHKR) and should be connected to the rear end of intake plenum.
![]() That other "J-hose" is front differential vent hose and should be like that. |

The heat and cool controls work ok. It's the floor/defrost/vent controls that are not working. That picture looks newer than my vehicle. I think I may have found the port for the line, but it is bigger than the hose. So I may need to find an adapter.

This is just the vent for the differential. It is NOT connected to any vacuum line.
